Ankalad Ladder Stabiliser
Adjustable Ladder Stabiliser Legs – Fits Ladders 2.5 m - 8.5 m Long
The Ankalad ladder stabilisers can be fitted quickly and easily to any ladder. They remain permanently fixed to the ladder as you move around your work area. Fitting requires you to drill holes in the top and bottom of the your ladder stiles and the stabiliser is then bolted on. Fitting fixtures are included. They are designed to fit to most ladders between 2.5m and 8.5m.
The adjustable legs compensate for slightly sloping and uneven surfaces and eliminate "bounce". They can be set up in under a minute and are folded flat for storage when not in use.
They have been accepted by the HSE as a safe alternative to "footing"and takes a working load of 150kg.
The product is robustly manufactured for trade and every day use. The telescopic struts of anodised aluminium are adjustable in length to suit most situations and lock in place with 'easy find' brass buttons. It is so robust and secure that short ladders can be used free-standing like steps (with caution) when correctly positioned.
They have become firm favourite with gardeners, tree surgeons and topiarists as a safe means of trimming hedges and trees when used in the free-standing mode.
The Health & Safety Executive's Operations Circular No.OC233/3 of 19 March 1997 confirms that the Ankalad Stabiliser is acceptable as an alternative to footing a ladder.
Note: The Drill size required to fit the Ankalad Stabiliser is 8mm.
